Abstract :
In this paper two novel C-shaped Defected Ground Structures (DGS) on a microstrip line is proposed to provide a frequency rejection property with a very high Q-factor. The new structures are compact and have a simple shape. Their rejection properties have a sharp transition at stop band and they provide very low insertion loss in pass band. Different parameters of the DGS have been adjusted for the best frequency response to reject the centre frequency. The proposed DGSs provide measured Q factor of 57 at 2.5 GHz and 62 at 6.7 GHz. Both filters successfully designed and implemented and the measured results are in a very good agreement with those obtained by numerical investigation.
