Abstract :
In this paper, a new application method of a novel metamaterial structure in small antenna is presented. This method is based on using the minimum number of unit cells around the antenna to reach the best and most optimal response. Expressed idea is coverage the effective part to reduce the capacitive induction and increase the radiation properties. In the first part, a novel structure of metamaterial with a large negative permittivity and permeability is investigated. The specifications of the proposed metamaterial are simple configuration, good bandwidth and suitable dimensions for use in antennas. The different designing methods are simulated by ANSOFT´s High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The results are shown that with this method of using unit cells in antenna, some parameters like directivity, gain and radiation power are increased.
