Abstract
Summary from only given. In this paper, fixed speed wind turbines problems has been studied from the short term voltage stability point of view and a new approach is presented to improve voltage stability of networks with this kind of turbines without using of FACTS devices. A full converter wind turbine next to the induction generators can inject reactive power, to improve their transient voltage stability. Modifying the control of these converters has significant impact on results. This approach is successful using the concept of less distance between induction generator and reactive power source. Simulation results and cost benefit studies verifies the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
