Abstract
The tiredness and fatigue of drivers of motor vehicles contribute to a large number of accidents. This number could be reduced if it was possible to detect the moment of inattention and warn drivers of their condition. A system that detects this automatically should be able to process the information of the current status of the driver and provide a response in real time according to their behavior and not affect the driver in its natural way to drive. In this paper was developed a methodology that uses image processing techniques, support vector machine and physical characteristics to detect the eyes regions and to analyze their behavior with the goal of verifying the level of inattention of motor vehicles drivers.
