Abstract :
In order to improve the pipe shape control performances of rolling mills and the pipe shape quality of products, special contour technologies of set control model of pipe shape and dynamic model of pipe shape as well as relevant pipe shape control models were developed for this type of rolling mills, on the basis of a large number of finite element simulations and experimental tests. Relevant pipe shape control models include the pipe shape setup control model in process control system (level 2), as well as the rolling force feedback control model, the feedback control model of wall thickness, the straightness feedback control model and the feedback control model of the ellipticity in basic automation system (level 1). After several complicated processes such as setup of off-line models, online programming, and debugging were finished, pipe shape contour technologies were stably applied in the rolling mill. The data in real production showed that the control technology of pipe shape could significantly improve its quality in rolling seamless steel pipe.
