  • Abstract
    The levels of traffic service on Olympic Roads Network (ORN) are forcing city authorities to look at innovative transportation solutions. Traffic simulation and other advanced technologies have been used to evaluate and optimize traffic management and signal settings and to provide solutions for maximizing the capacity and improving the level of service of ORN. The authors have undertaken a simulation study for ORN to evaluate the adopted traffic organization and signal settings in Beijing. This study illustrated how to assess the effectiveness of ameliorative measures using the microscopic simulation model.
