Abstract :
A photonic crystal is an artificially engineered, periodic structure that offers new optical properties and functionalities. A more generalized class of an artificial material may not be perfectly periodic and still offers unique photonic characteristics- architectural network of nanomaterials. I will describe, here, a random network of nanostructure for maximizing the solar absorption and a non-periodic design for achieving a near-perfect anti-reflection coating.
