Abstract
We firstly demonstrated a 24 Tb/s (24×1.3Tb/s) C and L-band WDM transmission of PDM-CO-OFDM superchannels over 2400 km EDFA-only SMF-28 link with BER less than the 3rd generation FEC threshold of 2×10-2. Each PDM-CO-OFDM superchannel per WDM tributary delivers up to 1.3 Tb/s total capacity over 13 flattened, frequency-locked optical subcarriers yielding a compact spectral width of 350 GHz.
