Abstract
Modeling and control of a Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) used for interconnecting medium-voltage (MV) distribution grids is presented. The control strategy is robust under parametrical strategies and unbalanced conditions. A special feature of the work is the use of a Kalman observer for estimating terminal voltage at the receiving-end.
