Abstract :
This paper presents a sketch-based garment modeling method in which garment models can be interactively designed by sketching 2D contour curves from different views. Garment model is constructed from garment harness. Garment harness is composed of constrained contour curves. Constraints are introduced to garment harness to maintain its topological shape when garment harness is edited. A simple algorithm for constraint resolving is presented to support robustly design garment shape interactively. The method developed in this paper can simplify garment modeling tasks to a certain extent, and therefore it is very useful for garment design industry and digital entertainment industry.
