Abstract :
The airfoil shear probes are specialized sensors which are used for ocean microstructure measurements. The cantilever of the probe is aimed to magnify the force on the probe tip and is very important for the probe´s design. The structure design and material selection of the cantilevers are the essential for the proper measurement of the probe. Based on the certain structure design, three cantilevers with different kinds of materials are analyzed when the same force acted on the tip of the probe. The output voltage and resonance frequency of the three different kind material cantilevers in different probes are calculated using software Ansys. Finally, the optimal design is selected based on the calculation and simulation.
