Abstract :
This paper presents an algorithm of the combination of two strokes into one mixed stroke in the application of automotive styling. By the analysis of stroke patterns, three cases have been considered to match the natural ways of closure. The conditions of determining the cases have been proposed. The concept of the influence ability between two strokes has been applied to get the offset or mixed points. By the calculation of the threshold X, within its control interval to offset the points of stroke, the hybrid bilinear interpolation has been introduced to make a smooth combination for the overlapped sections. The results demonstrate that the algorithm is quite satisfied and the algorithm meets the natural ways of sketching.
