With the new undergraduate college students´ the causes of mental health problems, we carry out targeted mental health interventions. Methods : 3568 new undergraduate students in the institutions were asked for Symptom Survey Analysis, and also with the application of Personality Assessment questionnaire. Results: 14.10% of the students is suspected to have some kind of psychological problems: 4.37% of the students were to be potential psychological problems patients 4.37%, 1.60% had obvious mental problems. By the Personality Assessment Questionnaire, we found that 9.08% of the students had mental illness or mental disorder, of 38.42% of the dtudents with slight psychological problems; these psychological problems were mainly obsessive compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, paranoia, hostility, anxiety and psychosis, etc. Boys were much more hostile than girls, girls were more sensitive than the boys to terror. Students who come from one-child families have better psychological advantage; psychological quality of the students who are from urban areas is better than that of those who are from rural areas; Boarders feel good on the school conditions and teaching, they had a higher level of satisfaction, and better their mental health status is. Conclusion: Although the new undergraduate college students had better mental health status, there are still some undeniable problems, psychological problems and for different groups of different students, the implementation of multi-level, multi-faceted mental- health education and intervention are necessary to be carried out.
