Abstract :
Data availability is one of the most important properties of the network storage system. Data redundancy is the basic method to improve data availability. Thus some systems use replication to protect against data loss. This paper designs a network storage system based on erasure code, researches data place strategy and data read write operation flow, analyzes data availability and storage overhead of the erasure code strategy and the replication strategy, draws the conclusion that erasure code strategy can greatly improve data availability.
