Abstract :
Problem of real-time performance is a mostly obstacle on Ethernet used to industrial control. In this paper, proposed a RT-EPON concept, combines real-time performance of real-time Ethernet and efficiency of EPON, and design the frame structure and protocol of RT-EPON MAC. In a building test system, the designed frame and Mac protocol have tested, it shows that the RT-EEPON system is stable and reliable, and the BER (Bit Error Rate) is 10-10 below on the physical layer of fiber link.
