Abstract
An effective approach of locating WCDMA mobile is proposed which use Weighted Least Square (WLS) method to solve system of nonlinear equations. The proposed location approach tries to correct the location errors caused by field measurement and distance calculation. The approach does not need any hardware modification to the running WCDMA system devices. The results of driving test indicate that the positioning accuracy is much better than CI method and cell centroid method.
