Abstract :
The project in this essay uses methods of field investigation and statistics science to research traffic conditions at intersections. Analysing survey data, we have established a systematic mathematical model which illustrates relationships among variables about traffic capacity at intersections including bicycle traffic demand, occupied motor lane width by bicycles, bicycle traffic capacity and decrease of motor traffic capacity. The finding of the research can be used for intersection reformation to decline losses caused by interference between bicycles and motor vehicles, leading to significant improvement in traffic conditions at intersections.
