  • Abstract
With the popularization of air conditioning system (A/C) in reality, A/C system control problems are focused on. This article presents a survey of different automatic control techniques that have been applied in A/C systems. Characteristics of the A/C systems are described and variables that should be controlled are discussed. A classification of the control approaches is used to explain the main features of these strategies used in A/C systems. This article clearly shows that, with the improvement of people´s living standard and emergence of worldwide environmental and energy problems, there are increasing requirements of more advanced A/C control strategies. Studies of control methods presented in this paper are summarized. Development and new trends of A/C control approaches are analyzed.
