Demand response resources applied to day ahead markets

Demand Response Resources Management is one of the most investigated solutions oriented to improve the efficiency in electricity markets. These resources are generally used in the intra-daily markets, and occasionally in the Balancing markets, and they never participate in the day-ahead markets, therefore these resources not directly participate in the market price definition process. This article presents a new Iterative Uniform Auction that can be put in to practice on the Day-Ahead Markets, which includes these resources on the market price generator algorithm. A comparative analysis is done to evaluate the effect of the application in this new auction type in the Spanish dairy market.
