Abstract :
This paper has introduced a part information model that takes manufacturing feature as the basic elements. The manufacturing feature refers to the processing surface of using some cutting tool or processing method to complete one time, it is the basic elements to compose a part. It has discussed the feature classification as well as the data structure of constructing part information model. This model not only includes the part geometric model, but also includes the feature model, precision model, material model and auxiliary model. Because the manufacturing feature corresponds with some processing methods, the part model based on the manufacturing feature is particularly beneficial to realize the automatic programming of numerical control machining, beneficial to realize manufacturing automation. At the same time, this model is constructed on the basis of geometric model; it has solved the key factor to realize the CAD/CAM integration.
