Abstract
This paper deals with the numerical assessment of propagation channel characteristics for future application of power line communications technology in aircrafts. First of all, since exhaustive experimentation on in-board architecture are not possible, it is shown how numerical simulations on a given architecture possibly concerned by PLC implementation can help to the design of a test bench. Finally, numerical modeling of this test bench, once validated by comparison to generic measurements, enabled to fill a data base containing the propagation channel properties, to propose possible optimization of this channel in order to improve PLC performances on this architecture and to assess EMC aspects.
