Abstract :
Heat sink design plays an important role for the EMC of the Switching Mode Power Supply (SMPS) systems. The parasitic coupling between electronic power devices and the heat sink causes noise currents in the SMPS system. These currents should be minimized in order to avoid EMC problems. This paper proposes a filter design to reduce the EMI by adding a filter between the heat sink and the power devices. Experimental results validate the proposed filter.
