Abstract
Regulatory information and sensing information are used to determine available spectrum (white spaces) and to facilitate dynamic spectrum access. This paper analyses the effect of a local white spaces database called sensing database (SDB) which relays regulatory information from regulatory database and contains sensing related information obtained by distributed sensing schemes. Since the SDB is deployed in local networks, it can be accessed at low latency and the amount of signaling traffic to global network can be reduced. Performance evaluation shows that, by deploying the proposed SDB a system can achieve up to 20% of reduction of sensing activities and maximum 1.3 times higher sensing quality.
