Abstract :
This paper considers the problem of base station cooperation (BSC) in the cell edge of multi-cellular system in which, different from conventional works, the BS location is displaced from the hexagonal cell center. The initial cell geometry is nonuniformly determined based on Voronoi diagram, and BS-UT (user terminal) connection is flexibly selected based on channel condition between them. In the computer simulations, the situation of interferences and the BS-UT channel condition are first investigated using 37-cell model. Then the effect of BSC is evaluated by randomly changing the location of BSs and UTs and propagation channels. The results show that BSC is important and effective in practical cellular systems assumed in this paper.
