Abstract
A fullwave generalized scattering matrix (GSM) analysis of an asymmetrical E-plane junction of hollow and filled rectangular waveguides is presented. Properties of the structure are compared with the properties of the waveguide traversed by a slanted interface between two media. The ability to study the configurations of this type with the help of a scalar approximation is also examined.
