Abstract :
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technique has been successfully used in the detection and identification of void under airfield pavement, but the estimation of void thickness is still in need of solving. In this paper, the seismic thin-layer theory is first introduced to analyze the amplitude response of void reflection. Then a new method was proposed for the determination of void thickness by the modified quantitative calculation formula. Simulation results show that the proposed method can outperform the conventional tuning thickness method.
