Abstract :
The paper presented study transmission and counting mechanism in eMBMS (evolved Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service) based on LTE femtocell. MBMS was developed in order to support efficient transmission of identical multimedia contents to several users who interested in same data service. Currently, MBMS has 3 types of transmission, namely Point to Point (PtP), Point to Multipoint (PtM) and Single Frequency Networks (SFN). In SFN all base station can coordinate each other to support the user in MBSFN (MBMS over Single Frequency Network) area. In addition, the Base Station (BS) has to recognize the number of user who want to use MBMS services because each transmission mechanism has different characteristic to transmit the data depend on the user. In this research, we analyze and simulate the transmission of eMBMS in femtocell network and review the spectral efficiency of related transmission. The results indicate promising good performance of eMBMS in femtocells, which hopefully can lead better multimedia service delivery in femtocells.
