Abstract
Co-channel deployment of heterogeneous macro/femto network is highly desired but results in increased level of interference. In this paper, we compare the performance of an interference avoiding frequency reuse scheme with two different femto cell deployment models in the urban environment. Analysis is carried out using Monte Carlo simulations. Our simulation results show that choice of femto cell deployment model significantly affects the performance of an interference mitigation solution.
