Abstract :
Protein phosphorylation plays a key role in sucrose-mediated transcriptional regulation of a phloem-specific proton-sucrose symporter. We evaluate the conservation of phosphorylation sites and its surrounding amino acids stretch through statistic analysis in this paper. Ten eukaryotic model species protein sequences were downloaded and the sequences which have ortholog were reserved for the anaysis. To compare the conservation of phosphorylation sites and its flanking sequences, we create two indexes named conservation score (C-score) and conservation Z-score (CZ-score) to evaluate the conservation of phosphorylation sites and its flanking sequences. The result shows that phosphorylated sites may be much better conserved than the unphosphorylated sites. The flanking sequences of phosphorylation site don´t reflect the same trend.
