Abstract :
The traditional video compression standards have research the rate control deeply, such as MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.263 and H.264. However, current multiview video (MV) coding reference model does not provide efficient rate control schemes. In order to satisfy transmission and application, this paper presents a rate control algorithm for MV based on the quadratic rate-distortion model. The proposed method consists of four levels for more accurate bits rate control. Extensive experiments show that the proposed algorithm can allocate the appropriate bits temporally to avoid the overflow of buffer while it should also allocate bits between inter views to keep the quality of each view totally equal.
