Abstract :
Images with severe geometrical distortions, which are induced by camera lens and position, must be corrected before extracting quantitative measurements. This paper presents a simple and efficient method of calibrating the intrinsic camera parameters to correct the non-linear distortion. We fix the aperture setting and perform the camera calibration. A plate with many circles is used as the calibration object. These circles are used as the calibration patterns. The centroids of the circles in the image are gotten as the image coordinates of the calibration data. The calibration parameter of measurement system is calculated according to the calibrated points in the center part. Our experiments show that the proposed method can provide accurate intrinsic camera parameters and correct the image distortion.
