Abstract :
In this paper, two-scale DSCM (digital speckle correlation method) is applied to measurement of shear strain field on free edge of a notched APC-2/AS-4 laminate specimen with configuration of [±25°]s4. The result indicates: the shear strain has evident free edge effect at laminate interfaces, especially when lay-up angles of the two adjacent layers are opposite, the free edge effect at the interface is more severe. In addition, the existence of hole will reduce free edge effect.
