Abstract :
Only radically innovative and low cost service delivery models can close the growing "broadband gap" that plagues much of the developing world. Inveneo\´s Haiti Rural Broadband Initiative combines low-cost wireless technologies, shared infrastructure and local IT capacity building to extend broadband to 20 un-served population centers in Haiti. This paper describes the program\´s current status and outlines what we see as the main prerequisites of its replication in other rural and low resource settings.
