Abstract
The DVB Project was created in 1993 to define and build the standards for digital television in Europe. Soon after this the specifications for digital transmission via satellite, cable and terrestrial DVB-S/C/T were published, and today are deployed widely on a worldwide basis. Following the success of these first generation standards DVB defined the second generation of these standards: DVB-S2, DVB-T2 and DVB-C2. However with the completion of the 2nd generation transmission standards the work of DVB is not finalized. There are new activities in DVB such as 3DTV, mobile and portable modes for DVB-T2, Over the Top Television (OTT) as well as Hybrid Broadband Broadcast (HBB) or the new version of the Common Interface (CI). This contribution will provide an update on the ongoing work in DVB.
