Abstract
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging is playing an important role nowadays. Moreover, with the development of fabrication and simulation techniques, activities at millimetre wave (mmW) frequencies are booming. Consequently, millimetre SAR imaging becomes a hot topic. However, due to the cost of equipments, it is not always feasible to build such an experimental setup for studies. For ease of system studies, we have developed a simulation tool so as to model the indoor SAR imaging process, including wave propagation, interaction between waves and objects, coupling between incident waves, mechanical scanning of antennas, and antennas, and image reconstruction. Based on this simulator, some system issues as regarding the roughness of object are discussed.
