Abstract :
This paper presents a new phase shifter for rectangular waveguide. The phase shifting is based on the insertion of a dielectric slab allowing the change of the propagation constant. Some notches at each end of the slab are used to reach a large bandwidth (>;20 %) in the X/Ku band, with very low losses (<;0.2 dB). Measurements of different dielectric slabs show that a phase shifting up to 50° is available in a very compact structure.
