Abstract :
This paper reports a low-IF receiver with a feedforward IM3 canceller for an LTE base station system. The proposed IM3 canceller utilizes a mixed-signal feed-forward path. The analog front-end of the feed-forward path, which detects an IM2 product for regeneration of an IM3 product, consists of only low frequency circuitry. Under IM3 cancellation, the receiver, which uses a dielectric duplexer in the RF front-end, achieves an effective IIP3 of 13 dBm and meets the LTE blocking requirement (IIP3 >; 11 dBm) with a 2 dB margin.
