Abstract :
Real-time video surveillance is valuable for ethology. In order to support the study of Anser indicus´s breeding period behavior, a real-time video surveillance network management system must be constructed for scientists. Through requirements analysis, a software framework is derived firstly. The crucial feature about the framework is that it must suit the video network which has many heterogeneous cameras been deployed. To resolve this difficulty, a uniform API was designed to operate various types of cameras, hence specific adapter must be implemented for each type of camera. Moreover, a demo implementation which is designed as a web application is developed according to the framework. The demo was deployed on Qinghai Lake video surveillance network, and it can support both the two types of cameras. Conclusively, the software framework can effectively resolve the heterogeneous problem in video surveillance network.
