  • Abstract
A construction method of knowledge transfer within virtual communities of practice based on semantic-level was proposed to promote the quality of knowledge transfer and boost knowledge sharing and innovation. First, characteristics of virtual communities of practice different from communities of practice and virtual communities were summed up. Then a knowledge integration framework was constructed according to the method of hybrid ontology. Last, a formalized model of knowledge transfer message was created in different situations. Meanwhile, a participant selection algorithm of knowledge transfer was provided based on similarity computation. The proposed knowledge integration framework efficiently organized knowledge within VCoPs. The proposed approaches can make the interaction among nodes reach semantic-level understanding and lead to improve quality and efficiency of knowledge transfer, which will be of great importance to provide semantic-level knowledge service efficiently and accurately.
