Abstract :
This paper studies on the influence of grounding electrode shared by UHVDC systems on the environment. According to the design of grounding electrode shared by Yun-Guang UHVDC system and Gui-Guang II HVDC system, the neutral point current of transformers in nearby AC substations are given. The substations with neutral point current which exceeds the limit are listed. The paper also presents the neutral point current of the converter transformer caused by the underground DC current. The corrosion on the reinforcing steel bar inside a hydro power station nearby is analyzed. The influence of the underground DC current on the railway is also discussed.
