Abstract :
The kidney provides the major regulatory mechanisms for the control of volume, osmolarity and electrolyte and non-electrolyte composition of the body fluids and tissues. In case of chronical renal failure it is necessary to realize artificially the kidney functions by a medical treatment named dialysis. The paper presents the basically kidney functions and principles of the dialysis process, realizing a synthesis of the most important risks for the dialyzed patients. To avoid these risks it is necessary to implement a quality and risk management system in the dialysis process, the paper propose a schema with the critical quality and risk control points and synthetize the basically quality control activities in the dialysis process.
