Abstract :
The aim of the research is to investigate the connection that may exist between the changes of the pronunciation of the /v/ and /f/ French fricative consonants and the dentistry pathologies. We perform this analysis at the formantic level, focusing on the statistical features like the median values of the F1-F4 formants, the first and third quartiles of the F1 formant, and on the presence or absence of the fundamental frequency (F0). The database contains 51 voice recordings. The French /v/ classes that we obtained using a hybrid classification method allowed us to analyze the occurrences of these classes for normal and pathological cases. We also analyze the occurrences of the /f/ fricative consonant with F0 fluctuating on the two groups and the similarities / dissimilarities of /v/ and /f/ pronunciations between the normal and the pathological groups. Statistics are provided.
