  • Abstract
    The present paper proposes an automated image processing workflow which includes classical image processing techniques together with novel approaches for image addressing and enhancement. Moreover, for simulation and testing of the proposed image processing algorithms, a novel software platform for generating microarray images is developed. Based on the microarray image processing workflow, an FPGA based system-on-a-chip (SoC) is proposed for microarray image acquisition and processing, aiming to deliver fast and accurate results in an automated manner. The SoC includes a FPGA processing unit which implements each independent step of microarray image processing.
