Abstract :
The DSP based multiple waveform generators are widely used in today´s equipments and systems test. This paper presents the design of a real time waveform generator using direct digital synthesis (DDS) techniques on TI DSK C6713. The proposed design is capable of generating multiple waveforms. However, due to the DSK I/O peripheral filter bandwidth limitation, the output signal frequency range is very limited. To break the barrier of upper frequency limit, digital I/O interface is exploited with aid of an external digital to analogue converter. The frequency and amplitude of the signals generated can be varied with a software based slider control using general extension language (GEL) in real time operation. A 2×16 LCD module was used for visual indication of the type of signal and its frequency at any particular instant during the operation.
