Abstract :
We describe the design and performance evaluation of a software radio for the reception of FM/RDS (radio data system) signals, with emphasis put on an efficient implementation. Both the FM and RDS receiver use quadrature sampling and simple processing of the respective IQ baseband signals. After FM demodulation the RDS signal is extracted and further processed using matched filtering and feedforward phase estimation. The software radio will be implemented on a C6000 DSP.
