Abstract
Latent energy in the wind, due to variation in the velocity and direction of the wind, is considered to be one of the poor quality energies. Winds behavior is dependent upon various factors; thus, Changes in the velocity and direction of such variable energy source, causes fluctuation in the input power to the turbine and in turn, affects the operation of the system. This paper focuses on Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) in a way that, voltage variation in the wind turbine caused by wind speed fluctuations is studied first, and then a controlled Matrix Converter for reducing mentioned fluctuation and improve the performance of such system is introduced. in this model, network voltage is sampled and fed to the matrix converter as reference voltage. This voltage is then compared to the output voltage of the matrix converter producing an error signal which will be used to change the switching sequence & correct the error. result, will be synchronized network voltage and matrix converter voltage. finally results from MATLAB simulation is Analyzed.
