Event classification and reconstruction of single pixel multiple interaction events

Abstract :
Single pixel multiple interaction events have been studied based on the preamplifier signals from each anode pixel since a conventional ASIC readout system is not capable to identify the unique interaction locations and energy depositions of those events. An algorithm has been developed to identify this kind of events and a new reconstruction method has been employed to extract the interaction location and energy deposition information of each individual electron cloud of those events. More than 85% of this kind of events can be identified correctly for 662 keV gamma-ray based on the simulation results. Simple back projection algorithm has been applied to these single pixel multiple interaction events to reconstruct Compton imaging.
