Abstract
We study electronic-equalization enhanced laser phase noise impairment in few-mode fiber based systems. For 16-QAM modulation with 100-kHz laser linewidth, the differential-mode-delay is limited to 160 ps/√(km) for 1000-km two-mode fiber with strong mode-coupling.
