Abstract :
Hybrid silicon electroabsorption modulators with bandwidth over 67GHz have been demonstrated for 1.3ìm transmission. An eye diagram measured after 16km transmission shows a 9.4dB dynamic extinction ratio at 50Gb/s with a 2.2Vpp drive voltage.
