Abstract :
Load balancing, prolonged network life time and deployment in various applications are the important requirements for mobile ad hoc networks. The EWiRP proposed in this paper is a load balancing technique which can also be viewed as an efficient routing approach, improves delivery ratio, reduces end to end delay, efficiently exploits the resources like available bandwidth, node energy, queue space, without affecting the network´s vital assets. This new load balancing solution works by selecting multiple weighted paths and follows a bandwidth reservation mechanism to improve the connection throughput significantly. The weight computation process considers not only the necessary parameters but also the service classes of the network. The comparative analysis of the proposed algorithm is analyzed, which shows the performance gains over traditional protocols in best, average and worst case scenarios.
